What are our options? Has anyone tried the new Amazon service?I've always been partial to emusic.com. But then, that probably has something to do with the fact that I was engineer #2 and built all of the infrastructure they used until they were bought by Universal Music Group and merged with mp3.com to create VUNetUSA back in 2002.Jason
Personally, I like emusic but I find their selection to be rather disappointing. Even among my preferred selection of indie and non- mainstream they have some notable gaps (e.g. the New Pornographers' latest album *still* hasn't shown up - it's been a month now!).
Luckily, unlike the Napster deal it looks like not much, if any, money changed hands here. Ruckus seems to getting money through its own advertising deals and the to-go subscriptions, not a regular fee.
