Donate Mac OS-X licenses/disks

Hi,
I received the following as part of some info from Babbages Basement (http://babbagesbasement.com/), a local non-profit computer re-furbisher part of the Ithaca Sciencenter. If you have older copies of Mac OS X that could be sent over to Babbages, please do. This is in the larger context that PC's are in demand and Babbages has a supply of Macs that are perfectly viable as systems for students and others in need.

thanks,
hurf

From Babbages:
Another potential obstacle with regard to the Macs is the OS. We feel comfortable putting the last version of OS 9 on just about any Mac that can run it, but not so with OS X. We have been buying copies and selling them at our cost, along with the license and the installation media. This immediately puts the base cost of any Mac at $75, before any value for the hardware or our time is factored in.

Many of the Macs we have are capable of running OS 9, but there are now many drawbacks to doing so. The most significant is the fact that there is no longer a decent web browser for OS 9 that is being kept current. The best of the lot is Netscape 7, which is very out of date at this point and either doesn't work at all on many sites, or renders them improperly or incompletely. This gets frustrating really fast, and is beginning to make OS 9 unusable for even routine web browsing.
