Hey all,
Thank you for your suggestions and input!
I believe that this is the "fix" that I was talking about...
But it uses sudo apt-get, and I cannot connect to the Internet through my Gigabit USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter either! And one is able to connect to the internet using firewire? I presume it is using the USB port on the Cable Model box? If so, I could try that by borrowing someones firewire... but is there a patch for the USB Ethernet adapter... that would be the ideal internet connection.
Thank you,
Desh

Hey everyone,
I am having a problem with Ubuntu. I installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my Dell Vostro 1400 which is running Microsoft Vista Home Basic; however, Ubuntu 8.04 does not recognize the Vostro's Wireless Card. There is a fix for it, but the fix requires being connected to the internet (it uses sudo apt-get install). This would not be a problem if I could connect to the internet via an Ethernet cable, but I cannot because my Ethernet port does not work, and, therefore, I have to use a Gigabit USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter, which Ubuntu does not recognize, as well. So I cannot connect to the internet either way. Are there patches that you know of to fix these issues, and if there are, how do I get them if I cannot connect to the Internet through Ubuntu?
Thanks,
Desh
